Participate in the lottery
for the restoration of the Children’s Village of the Lyreio Children’s Institution...

On December 26th, a lottery approved by the Ministries of Economy and Health will take place on the Institution’s premises in the presence of members of the judiciary. The price of each lottery ticket is €3. The first prize is a new OPEL CORSA 1.400 cc with 224 additional prizes of up to €100 value. The results will be posted on our website as well as in the Press (ETHNOS, APOGEYMATINI) on January 19th, 2010. The purpose of this lottery is to financially assist in the completion of the Children’s Village of the Lyreio Children’s Institution and enable restoration of houses destroyed in the blaze of 1995, as well as to contribute to the overall well-being of our children.

The Lyreio Children’s Institution warmly thanks the Hotel Sissy in Kamena Vourla, for the 3 unforgettable days of joy and happiness that our children spent there, after the catastrophic fire in North Eastern Attica, in August 25-27.

Participation of our children in summer camps

Teenage girls as well as girls under the age of 12 from the Lyreio Children’s Institution joined the summer camp of the Holy Bishopric of Nea Smirni at Aghios, Edipsos, Evia, on July. Our boys on the other hand joined the summer camp of XON Piraeus (a Christian Youth Club). We would like to express our gratitude to both the Holy Bishopric of Nea Smirni and XON Piraeus for their kindness in accommodating our children, which in the case of the boys has continued for a number of years.

Art exhibition of the adult education programs of the Prefecture of Eastern Attica

During Friday and Saturday of June 26-27 an exhibition of fine arts and other applied arts took place on the premises of the Prefecture of Eastern Attica. Among exhibitors were 5 teenage girls from the Lyreio Children’s Institution who exhibited their handicrafts (dresses, skirts, etc) after having attended and successfully completed the cutting and sewing program of the Prefecture of Eastern Attica.

End of school-year 2008-2009

On Sunday June 28, the 2008-2009 graduation ceremony took place on the premises of the Institution. The boys and girls chorus, under the guidance of experienced music teachers, sang beautiful folk songs. Other children played musical instruments while others danced folk dances, in this way expressing their gratitude to the friends of the Institution. Their efforts were warmly received with large and generous applause.
